Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure used to improve the appearance of teeth by applying a tooth-colored resin material to the tooth's surface. It is a versatile and relatively quick solution for various cosmetic issues. Dental bonding can address problems such as chipped or cracked teeth, gaps between teeth, tooth discoloration, and misshapen teeth.

Application of Bonding Material:

  • The dentist will choose a shade of resin that matches your natural tooth color.
  • The tooth's surface is then roughened slightly, and a conditioning liquid is applied to help the bonding material adhere to the tooth.

4. Bonding Material Application:

  • The putty-like resin material is applied to the tooth and molded to the desired shape.
  • The dentist may use special tools to sculpt and shape the material to achieve the desired appearance.

5. Curing:

  • Once the bonding material is in place and shaped correctly, a special light or laser is used to harden (cure) the material. This process typically takes only a few minutes.

6. Finishing Touches:

  • After the bonding material has hardened, the dentist will further trim, shape, and polish it to match the natural contours of your teeth and provide a smooth, aesthetic finish.

Dental bonding is a cost-effective and conservative way to enhance the appearance of your teeth. While it can be durable, it may not be as resistant to staining or wear as some other cosmetic options like porcelain veneers.
